Balance or Harmony?

So I had a big epiphany from one of my Guides after sending last week's e-mail that prompted a reflection on what needs to be rebalanced in your/my life?

She said, "for this fall, let's forget about Balance. Ask what you need to do to bring Harmony into your life instead."

"What's the difference?", I thought.

So I looked them up and I have to say that I agree with that statement as it's much more applicable and has much better chances for a successful and long lasting outcomes...

Balance is defined as a condition in which different elements are equal or in the correct proportion; and even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady.

How did your body react when you read that?

Harmony is the sound of things that go well together; a noun describes an agreement such as in a feeling, sound, look, feel or smell. Or a relationship (my add).

How did your body react when you read that one?

Fall is about embracing the Feminine after 3 months of Masculine sunshine-y summer. Fall kicks up the wind bringing movement and a little bit of dryness. Leaves are still on the trees and falling to the ground. The sun is still present and warm during the day but the night is starting to get longer and cooler. Traditionally, the harvest is ready and summer blooms are dying off. It asks us to slow down and be flexible. So Harmony seems much more aligned with the overall notion of fall.  It also denotes that more than there can be dynamic and synergistic relationships between more than 2 things. Maybe there are 3-4 things that work together to create a unique sound or smell. On the relationship side, there can be 4 or 5 parties that come together to create a beautiful product. With harmony, an endless number of combinations exist and it's ok if there's no equality; sometimes there needs to be a dominant element because that's what will make it work. In fact that what makes it beautiful, there generally isn't an evenness to it. It can be in flux with ratios changing to maintain the agreement as needed.

Balance implies it's always two sided and both have to be precisely calculated to maintain equilibrium. One cannot dominate over the other. And there's no room to introduce a new partner, concept or space. It's a Masculine energy; always needing to have a logical outcome. Black or white. Yes or No. No room for negotiation or creativity. It will be perfectly symmetrical.

So if you're curious maybe ask yourself this week, where do I need to rework my relationships, work and/or passion projects so that there's more harmony and fluidity vs. balance and strict proportion?

Personally, I've just converted to be a lifetime member of Team Harmony. If you called, I’d love to hear how this lands for you.
